Billy Gardell Lexington Concert reviews
Beyond Impressive
High expectations were exceeded emphatically after reading other reviews of Billy Gardell's performances. The performance exploded with energy, kicking off like a slow-lit fuse. The band appeared after a dull background beat lingered, and the music slowly rose in pace and anticipation, blossoming into full rhythmic paced "Radioactive." They immediately answered the question of playing hits of their past two albums. Hits like "It's Time," "Demons," "Shots," "Amsterdam" and "I Bet My Life" were played, in addition to "Radioactive." A cover of The Police classic hit "Every Breath You Take" was also done by the band. Crowd interaction was awesome, with high-fiving fans and allowing selfies. They even performed at an alternate stage on the rear part of the stage (FOH), giving the back of the arena a better view for a moment. The Audio-Video and lighting were exquisite as well. Confetti blew multiple times, always timed very well as an exclamation point. Balloons dropped, and another level of fun began as the crowd bounced these giant inflated spheres around the arena. The show, family-friendly, had a surprising number of children in attendance. I think it's perfectly suitable for youngsters considering the band's content. The show was amazing, and I believe it was worth more than I paid.
